Biosecurity solutions

Biosecurity is about more than putting a washdown point at the gate. It’s about prevention and preparedness. For sites moving vehicles, equipment and people, the infrastructure has to work reliably in real conditions and at the scale your site demands.

Aqua Energy Group designs and delivers engineered biosecurity solutions for farms, mine sites, Defence and other high-risk environments across Australia’s primary industries. Our range covers vehicle disinfection, washdown, foot and boot disinfection, and weed seed management. We bring the equipment, water management, controls and supporting infrastructure together into one complete solution.

As your principal consultant, we stay with you through every stage of project management. That runs from the first conversation through design, manufacture, installation and commissioning, so the system is built around your site.

The Site Entry

One site entry, multiple controls

Every vehicle, person and piece of equipment entering or leaving a site can carry something with it. Mud, soil, weeds, seeds, pests and diseases all move this way. A controlled entry point is the chance to stop that material at the boundary.

Each control has a role, and together they form a practical system for managing biosecurity risk.

Vehicle disinfectionVehicle disinfection treats vehicles before they enter controlled areas.
WashdownWashdown targets wheels, tyres and underbodies, where soil and contaminants collect.
Weed and seed washWhere weed and seed movement is a concern, dedicated wash systems add another layer of control.
Foot and bootAt pedestrian entry points, foot and boot disinfection manages what people carry between areas.

In agricultural environments, high levels of people movement can increase the risk of spreading animal and plant diseases. The aim is to keep contaminants on site and away from public roads, neighbouring properties and the wider community. These controls are a key part of a site’s prevention and preparedness strategy. They help reduce risks to animal, plant and human health, the environment and your operation.

Where biosecurity meets water management

And what happens to the water, sediment and contaminants after washing? Capturing and treating washdown water keeps the risk contained. This is where biosecurity meets water management. Our water management systems recycle washdown water to reduce demand, supporting your site’s sustainability goals and regulatory compliance.

Three Systems

What we design and build

No two sites move people, vehicles and equipment in the same way. Biosecurity infrastructure needs to work around the operation.

Our team brings more than 10 years of engineering experience and a deep understanding of site conditions to every design. We consider the bigger picture from the outset, from managing day-to-day biosecurity threats to supporting response planning when conditions change.

Vehicle disinfection systems

For sites with frequent vehicle movements, disinfection needs to be practical, reliable and built around how the site operates. Our vehicle disinfection systems provide controlled treatment at key entry and exit points. They help manage contamination before it moves between controlled areas or beyond the site boundary.

Foot and boot disinfection

People are as important to a biosecurity control point as vehicles and equipment. Our boot wash stations are designed for pedestrian entry and exit points. They remove soil and contaminants from footwear before it’s carried between controlled areas, and can be integrated into your wider site biosecurity process.

Weed seed and biosecurity wash

Where weed seed movement is a concern, targeted washdown helps stop contaminated soil and plant material leaving the site. Our weed washing units are designed around how equipment and vehicles move through the operation. They give sites a practical control point where environmental and biosecurity risks need to be managed together.

A Shared Responsibility

Biosecurity obligations we build for

In Australia, biosecurity is a shared responsibility.

Everyone has a role

Anyone working with animals, plants, soil or equipment has a role in stopping pests and diseases moving between environments. That matters most in higher-risk settings such as farms, mine sites and other complex operations. Government, industry and landholders all play a part.

Early detection and traceability

For agricultural businesses, routine monitoring of crops and livestock helps identify disease threats early. Accurate vehicle and visitor records also support traceability and a faster response if an incident occurs.

Fit for each site

No two businesses face the same biosecurity challenge. Aqua Energy Group works across a diverse range of industries, including agriculture, mining, Defence and renewable energy. We bring practical advice and engineering knowledge to solutions that make sense for each site. The result is fit-for-purpose infrastructure that supports compliance and protects operations. It also helps maintain the market access that Australia’s agricultural supply chains depend on.

Targeting Avian Influenza and Phytophthora cinnamomi

In Tasmania, we delivered two automated vehicle wash systems with integrated disinfection, water recycling and flocculant dosing, achieving up to 95% water reuse while helping manage Avian Influenza and Phytophthora cinnamomi risks. Understanding what moves through a site is equally important, with accurate vehicle and visitor records supporting traceability and rapid response when a biosecurity incident occurs.
